The Details

Group Personalized Attention

Group Personalized attention can be highly beneficial to art students for several reasons. First and foremost, it allows for a more tailored and individualized learning experience. This attention can be significant in the arts, as students may have different goals, interests, and learning styles. With group attention, Ginger and Jon can take these differences into account and adapt their teaching style accordingly, which can help students learn more effectively and efficiently.

Additionally, group attention allows for more one-on-one time with the instructor, allowing students to ask questions, get feedback, and receive guidance on specific projects or challenges they may be facing. This extra attention gives a deeper understanding of the material and a greater sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Finally, the attention can also help students feel more supported and motivated, as they can receive individualized attention and encouragement from their instructor. Overall, personalized attention can be a valuable resource for art students looking to improve their skills and reach their full potential in their artistic pursuits.

People Focus

Painting people can be challenging but rewarding for artists, as the human form is a complex and varied subject. Therefore, the artist must consider a few key elements when painting people in scenes. First, they must consider the composition of the overall image. In addition to design, the artist must consider how the figure or figures fit into the setting. The procedure may involve the following:

  • Depicting the figures in action.
  • Interacting with their environment or other people.
  • Simply posing in a specific location.

The context in which the figures are placed can significantly impact the look and feel of the painting, so the artist must consider this when painting people in scenes. The artist must also pay attention to the details of the human form, such as facial expressions, body posture, and clothing, to create a realistic and believable depiction of the person or people in the scene.

When painting a portrait, the artist must focus more closely on the individual subject, capturing their unique features and personality. This may involve working from photographs or live sittings and may require the artist to pay particular attention to the subject’s facial features, skin tones, and other details. The artist may also need to consider the lighting and background of the portrait, as these elements can significantly affect the overall look and feel of the painting. The goal of painting people is to create a lifelike and expressive depiction that captures their essence and character, whether in a scene or as a portrait.

Painting Design

Painting design is the methodology of creating and planning the visual appearance of a painted surface. This process can involve a wide range of techniques and styles, from traditional brushwork to more modern methods like airbrushing or digital painting. However, we will focus on the classic style with acrylic paints.

Several key elements are typically involved in painting design:

  1. Composition: This refers to the arrangement of elements within the painting, including the placement of objects, figures, and other elements within the frame.
  2. Color: Color is an essential aspect of painting design, as it can be used to create the mood, convey emotion, and draw the viewer’s attention to certain areas of the painting.
  3. Brushwork: How paint is applied to the surface can greatly affect the overall look and feel of the painting. Using various brushstrokes and techniques makes it possible to create a range of textures and effects in a painting.
  4. Light and shadow: The use of light and shadow can help to create a sense of depth and dimension within a painting and can be used to highlight specific areas or create a mood.
  5. Perspective: This refers to how objects are portrayed in relation to the position of things in relation to the viewer and each other, as well as the use of perspective techniques to create the illusion of depth and distance, which are what this refers to in the painting.

Overall, painting design is essential to creating visually appealing and impactful works of art. It requires a combination of artistic skills, technical expertise, and an understanding of design principles, and these are precisely what we will be teaching you.

Challenges are Here

Ginger and Jon will present different challenges to help you grow as an artist, such as quizzes about art or photographs to paint in a particular style. There are several challenges that acrylic artists may face as they improve their skills, and our goal is to present you with many skill-building tasks. One challenge is taking a photograph or other reference and turning it into a painting. This can be difficult because the artist must accurately recreate the image and add their own artistic style and interpretation. Another challenge is learning a new technique, such as abstract painting. This requires the artist to let go of traditional techniques and approaches and instead think creatively and experiment with new methods and materials. Both of these challenges can be daunting, but they also offer the opportunity for growth and development as an artist. Therefore, the artist must be open to learning and willing to take risks to continue improving and expanding their skills.

Community Center

We have created a private forum for our Royal Purple Member artists, which will be a valuable resource for sharing ideas, seeking feedback and support, and staying connected with fellow creatives.

Members of the forum can share their current projects and ask for advice or critiques from others. We will also have a public area where the RPM members can share their finished artwork if they want.

The forum will also serve as a place for artists to ask questions and get guidance on various topics, such as materials, techniques, and painting design ideas.

To facilitate visual communication, the forum could allow for sharing images and limited videos of artwork, allowing members to see each other’s work in more detail.

Overall, a private forum for artists will provide a supportive and collaborative environment for exchanging ideas and sharing art.

Personal Art Coach

Working with a Professional Art Coach, such as Ginger Cook, can significantly benefit your artwork as she can provide valuable insights and guidance. She can help you identify areas for improvement in your paintings and offer constructive feedback on your techniques and style. A Personal Art Coach can also provide encouragement and support as you achieve your art goals. In addition, she can offer personalized video explanations and suggestions for how to enhance your paintings.

Working with a Personal Art Coach will also allow you to receive feedback on non-tutorial paintings based on a photo or created from another source. Ginger will offer honest evaluations and suggestions to help you improve and achieve your desired outcomes. Additionally, a Personal Art Coach can help you with the accuracy of your drawings or designs by providing feedback as you work on them or reviewing a photo beforehand to determine its potential as a painting. Remember, send in your painting before you are too far along in the painting process to ensure you are heading down the right path.

As an RPM student, you can submit up to four paintings per month, either tutorial or non-tutorial, and one photo challenge based on a tutorial each month. The photo challenge must be completed before a new one is provided. The Photo Challenges are exclusive to you, provided you are proficient at the 3-Cookie level and based on the same level tutorial which needs to be 3-Cookie or higher. You will also receive a Priority PAC response and move to the head of the line. Be sure to check your Member’s Tips in the Community Center for details.
